Autumn is a lovely time to begin, and November is often a busy month for Communion fittings. Coming early gives you the best choice of styles and sizes, and more time if a dress needs to be ordered. We continue to sell from available stock later in the season, so you are welcome to contact us whenever you are ready.

Our Kilmeaden appointments are private and usually last about an hour. Bring the people whose opinions matter most to your daughter. A small group keeps the fitting calm and lets her enjoy her own moment; if you are planning a larger party, please let us know before booking.

White leggings or shorts, a strappy vest and socks make trying on dresses easier and more comfortable. If she already has the shoes she hopes to wear, bring those too so we can look at the length together.

New styles arrive in stages, and we add them to the website as they are ready. Delivery dates can vary by designer and style. If you have your eye on a particular dress, ask us what is here now and what is still expected.

We look at her measurements, the shape of the dress and how much growing room is sensible for her. Closer to Communion, we can review the fit and discuss any alterations needed. Children grow differently, so no one can promise an exact fit months ahead, but choosing with her growth in mind is part of the appointment.

Please come early. It’s understandable to think that waiting until nearer May is the safest choice if you’re worried she will grow, but leaving it late often limits your options. An early fitting gives us time to find the right width and length and, where available, order the style she loves in the size she needs. We’ll consider her individual fit and allow sensible growing room, rather than choosing by the age on the label. Waiting too long can mean fewer dresses to choose from and less time for ordering or alterations.

There is no single cut-off date for every dress. It depends on the designer, size, stock and expected delivery. Ordering earlier gives us more options; later in the season, you may need to choose from dresses already in stock. Please ask us about the particular style you love before relying on a delivery date.

Some styles can be personalised with details such as sleeves, a bow or other finishing touches. What is possible depends on the dress and the time available, and any extra cost will be discussed with you first. Tell us your ideas at the fitting so we can check the options for that design.

Yes, many styles come in ballet length or full length, and some have other length options. Availability varies by designer and size. We will help you choose the length that suits your daughter, her shoes and the look she wants.

We offer one dress style per class. Let us know her school and class when you book; we will guide her towards the beautiful styles still available to her.
